In 1999 I walked into Rec Diving, in Royal Oak, Michigan, and started the adventure of a lifetime! That's when I signed up for classes and became an Scuba Schools International (SSI) open water diver. The minute I hit the clear blue water of the Bahamas for my open water dives, I knew I was hooked. Before long I began taking specialty classes and began the DiveCon program. Becoming a DiveCon for SSI is like an assistant instructor for any other dive certifying agency. I was able to lead certified divers on dives and assist instructors during pool and open water classes. I was able to conduct a Scuba Skills Update session on my own, and introduce people to diving through the Try Scuba program. I enjoyed being a DiveCon very much, but it just wasn't enough. In 2001, on the day I completed my 100th open water dive, I became an Open Water Instructor. I continued my training at Rec Diving and am now an Advanced Open Water Instructor. I now sit at 730 open water dives, and the thrill is still the same.
This website will show you some of the places I have explored as a diver! I hope you enjoy coming along on my adventures! |
